FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE: Bennett Aerospace is seeking a highly motivated engineer who has EXCEPTIONAL Communication System Design skills for an initially part-time – in the future to move to full time with benefits – position as a Research Engineer. The ideal candidate should be seasoned engineer (5+ to 10+ years of experience).
This key Research Engineer will report directly to the company CEO and will work with our Vice President of Business Development – NASA Operations. The project work will initially include aiding in the development of an advanced radio system architecture design for NASA lunar operations.
Location: Ideally, location is in Atlanta, Georgia, or on-site in Cary, North Carolina. Other remote locations will be considered.
Start date: Part time immediately.
Job Description:
The successful candidate's initial work will be on a NASA-funded effort for space-based radio design. The work falls under Bennett Aerospace's core capabilities in sensor and instrumentation design. Required Expertise, Experience and Skills:
• Will be required to perform communication end-to-end system design and performance simulation/analysis and model-based trade space assessments.
• Must possess knowledge of state-of-the-art radio components and techniques. Radio components include antennas, power amplifiers, filters, mixers, correlators, low noise amplifiers, ADCs and DACs, etc. Techniques include multi-access protocols, data compression (voice, telemetry, HDTV), error correction coding, multiplexing, modulation, multipath mitigation, etc.
• Must specifically possess knowledge of software-defined radio design.
• Must have experience with simulation tools to achieve the above results.
Possible Career Path Options and/or Opportunities: Future work at Bennett Aerospace may include Program Management, R&D and System Development, and/or Business Development.
Required Education: Masters’ Degree in engineering/physics/equivalent engineering communications specialty or a Bachelor’s Degree with significant demonstrated success in previous jobs doing the same function as detailed above.
Desired Education: PhD in engineering/physics/ equivalent engineering communications specialty.

The ideal candidate should be seasoned engineer/physicist (10+ years of experience).
This key Senior Research Engineer will report directly to the company CEO. The project work will initially include aiding in the development of a heads up display optics for U.S. Air Force aircraft and is expected to move quickly to U.S. Army applications.
Location: Cary, NC. Remote work will be considered, but strong preference is on site. No relocation pay offered.

The successful candidate will be the technical lead on a U.S. Air Force-funded effort for vision system heads-up displays using innovative optics. The successful candidate will be required to perform design work using advanced optics and integrate with technology offerings of team partners. This Senior Research Engineer will manage all program development timelines, create deliverable documents and /or research results, and work with the CEO to ensure that the customers’ needs are met. Additional duties will involve aiding in Business Development efforts to increase overall company revenue.
