SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Responsible for instructing and teaching various swimming skills, styles, and basic diving to various age groups. Ensures all water safety rules are observed by swimmers, utilizing a good knowledge of all aspects of water safety. Observes swimmers and ensures all participants are accounted for at all times. Checks the chemical balance of pool water and applies disinfectant to showers, floors, and decks, as required. Performs necessary maintenance work required for sanitation, cleanliness and neatness of the pool areas. May collect usage fees and check I.D. cards, as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Lifeguard Training, current Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic First Aid certificates or equivalent. Certification must be current. Must have one to two years of related experience. Dexterity to handle a person in the water who may panic or be unconscious. Understanding of and ability to enforce rigid safety regulations to ensure maximum protection of swimmers. Ability to use equipment to take pool and environmental readings. National and state background checks are required for positions that involve working with youth programs.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Serves as Contract Specialist responsible for pre-award and post award functions for a variety of services, materials and supplies. Carefully reviews the proposed request and recommends proper format and procedure for compliance with rules, regulations, and policies established by higher authority. Responsible for subject matter negotiation, preparation, completion and accuracy of the contracting and procurement process, up to the finalization of a signed contract/agreement. May meet and discuss with division director or representative to ensure that all material specifications, conditions and/or provisions desired are included in the resulting legal document. Independently plans and carries out assignments to include determining the approach to be taken or methodology to be used, developing a fact finding plan and determining the depth of analysis required. Coordinates matters with technical specialist, legal specialists and other contract personnel. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Knowledge of procurement statutes, Executive Orders, policies and regulations. Must have the ability to successfully complete required training. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

The military is not just a last resort. We all know our economy is not doing well right now and that people are getting laid off every day here in Vegas. If you don't have any job skills or maybe only have one the Guard is a way to expand your horizons. We can give you an actually job skill that you can use in the civilian world. On top of this, Nevada pays 100% for college which also give you the opportunity to get your BA. If you have been thinking about going back to school but have never had the means or money we can help you. We have so many jobs to pick from but like any job you must be qualified to join the Army Guard. I will go over some of the qualifications which you MUST meet to be able to join. Most of these qualifications apply to Non-prior service soldiers and Prior service soldiers. Here we go:
17 to 42 years ( if you are prior service and over 42, you must subtract the amount of years in from your age)
Must have a United States High school diploma ( if you have a high school diploma from another country you must have at least 15 credit hours from a US College to be able to join)
Must either be a US citizen or a Permanent resident
Must meet Height and Weight standars for entry ( this also goes for Prior Service)
You cannot have asthma (childhood asthma does not count. If you had asthma prior to your 11th birthday you still qualify)
You must be able to pass the ASVAB test with at least a 50
You cannot have any open tickets at the time of enlistment
You cannot have any felonies
Some misdemeanors can be worked with but it depends on which ones and how many
No drug use
No MAJOR surgeries
No pins, plates, or screws in your body
Tattoos are ok as long as they are not gang related or offensive
Prior Service soldiers that have been out more than six months must have a meps physical done
Prior Service soldiers will retain your rank that is shown on your DD214

A Multichannel Transmission Systems Operator-Maintainer works directly on communication devices and equipment that communicate through more than one channel. They are responsible for installation, repair, operation and maintenance check of these devices, antennae and associated equipment.
Duties performed by Soldiers in this MOS include:
Installs, operates, and performs unit level maintenance on multichannel line-of-site and tropospheric scatter communications systems, antennas and associated equipment. Analyzes BIT/BITE diagnostics to isolate faults to the Line Replaceable Unit. Installs, operates, performs strapping, restrapping, preventive maintenance checks and services, and unit level maintenance on communication security devices. Operates and performs Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services on assigned vehicles. Installs, operates, and performs preventive maintenance checks and services on assigned power generators.
Supervises operations and assists team members in the installation and operation of multichannel line-of-site and tropospheric scatter communications systems. Supervises, performs and assists team members in the performance of unit level maintenance on assigned communications equipment. Requests logistical support. Prepares input for statistical and other operational reports.

If you have a good RE Code, and Honorable Discharge on your DD 214 we could use you. You will retain your rank so you don't have to worry about that. If you have have a 5 or 6 year break in service that's ok to! We need experience in the Guard! We love prior service soldiers that can bring something to the table. If you are prior service Air Force or Navy you will need to go to a conversion school called WTC(Warrior Transition Course). Marine or Army prior service do not have to attend this school. We have quite a few jobs open right now. You can either keep your original MOS if we have it in this state or change it! Your asvab scores are good for 10 years after you get out. If you have been out for more than 6 months and/or don't have your last physical in hand you will have to head back up to meps.
