Requirements:
- Avid web user whom frequently uses Social Networking and Web 2.0 sites, etc.
- A computer (laptop preferred) with at least Windows XP and IE7
- Strong grasp of the English language and demonstrable writing ability
- Available twice a week for a few hours to work from our Lower Queen Anne office, otherwise telecommuting is ok.
- Basic understanding of HTML and how websites work
Nice to have:
- Experience crafting basic Regular Expressions
- Experience with XML and XPath
- Basic scripting experience (Ruby, Python, Perl, PHP, etc)
- Experience with Firebug

Fididel Inc., a fast-growing fully funded startup, is looking for a Senior System and Software Engineer candidate with a strong working knowledge of the LAMP solution stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) including a solid conceptual foundation of how to develop SaaS products. The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of web-based SaaS programming experience on Linux-based platforms and knowledge of the LAMP products, SSL, and JavaScript.
Responsibilities
This staff-level position will take full responsibility for Fididels code base and drive its advancement. Fididel has a large number of live customers and is rapidly growing, and the Senior System and Software Engineer is expected to ensure the continued integrity of the code base and rapidly add new features as required by the market. The job includes developing, testing, and maintaining Fididels flagship product, InteractNOW!, as well as developing new-generation product to meet the needs of real-time eCommerce websites.
The responsibilities include:
Continued development of UI for InteractNOW!, including customer-facing screens, administrative screens, and other needed UI.
Continued development of the server-side services to manage the InteractNOW! transactions.
Continued development of the web-based API.
Support deployment issues and manage the code base to ensure stability.
Maintain the production systems to ensure maximum uptime.
Experience:
5+ years experience building commercial software products, preferably SaaS solutions.
CS graduate or post-graduate
Strong PHP experience
A solid understanding of JavaScript and jQuery library
Experience with Zend framework and MVC
Some experience maintaining production systems
Knowledge of the following communication protocols: TCP/IP (UDP and TCP), HTTP, SSL
Experience with XMPP, ejabberd highly desirable
Additional Requirements:
Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate with the management team
Must be able to work in a collaborative environment
