Hi!
We need a web developer for our company! We're successfully launched, and we're starting to get a lot of business.
Us: Busy geeks who have an idea we love. We're promoting to gamers, comic collectors, scifi/fantasy fans, and all kinds of netizens.
You: A nerd who is proficient in PHP 5, MySQL, understand basic algorithms, know the complexities of a php.ini file, have a more-than-basic understanding of JavaScript and HTML, creative, and (BIG bonus) familiarity with Vanilla Forums and WordPress. You must be local to Seattle or at least able to get to Redmond on a bus; you will be able to work from home and at whatever ungodly hours you want, but we still will need to meet occasionally.
We need someone who can code interfaces, hook up HTML to the backend, deal with and write queries, and who is creative in problem solving. We don't need a graphic designer or UX/UI designer; we'll just feed you assets to hook up.
Bonus points if you are a Star Trek fan, because the person you'll be talking to is a total squeeball for the Trek Trivia. All sorts of geekery is permissible, however.
Be prepared to be grilled on your PHP knowledge. We care more about your abilities than your resume; everyone has a shot at this gig if you know your stuff.
PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART:
(1) DO NOT SEND ME A RESUME.
(2) DO NOT REPLY TO THIS AD AT THE CRAIGSLIST EMAIL.
(3) By March 27th, send five links to sites you have worked on to LAMPKILLER at GMAIL dot COM, along with a brief description of your responsibilities on those sites (no more than 100 words per link).
If you can't follow these directions, I don't want you touching my code. If I talk to you and I like you, I'll ask you to send me a resume and cover letter.
I look forward to hearing from you!
