Position Summary:
This position is a non-exempt position and reports to the Director of Programming, Andrew Horn. Assignments will include Planning & Coordinating Extreme Recess events and fundraisers, compiling and completing grant proposals, developing Dream Leader programming in area schools, creating and maintaining strategic relationships with individuals, organizations and businesses throughout DC, MD and VA.
Position Description:
These positions may include the following:
Planning Extreme Recess events
Represent DFK at local fundraisers ,charity functions and important area events
Develop implementation model for Dream Leader programs in area schools (work with school officials)
Sourcing and acquiring participants, volunteers, venues & equipment for events
Create new fundraising events and programs for DC operations
Reaching out to other area foundations and organizations to create strategic partnerships
Writing press releases & communicating with local and national media outlets
Maintain database of participants, volunteers, partners , donors, and other important relationships
Maintain communication with DFK headquarters in Chicago, IL
Creation of Flyers and other marketing materials
Assisting with other potential DFK events ( Holiday for Hope & Global Projects)
